Social Change UK have been appointed by the Lincolnshire Cooperative to carry out research with Co-op customers on a proposed new look and feel for their food, pharmacy, funeral and travel shops.

Researchers will be out talking to customers across the county this month and will ask them for their views on a new look for the stores. Lincolnshire Cooperative are keen to involve shoppers and dividend members in any proposed changes to the brand. The findings will be presented to the board sometime in July.

Derby City Council have asked Social Change UK to assist them with the design and delivery of the research phase that will inform future commissioning and service design specifications for harmful and hazardous drinkers in Derby.

The primary stage focuses on research, which is required to obtain qualitative information around factors that influence target audiences in Derby. Local insight is also required from individuals who work within key field areas to help commissioners make decisions about service design and interventions for harmful and hazardous drinkers in the city.

A number of behavioural objectives have been set for the programme:

  • Reduction in alcohol related A&E admissions by 5% by 2017 (c. £900,000 annual saving)
  • Reduction in alcohol related arrests by (target to be confirmed once data available)
  • Increase the annual number of harmful/hazardous drinkers accessing support interventions to 3,000 per year by 2015
  • Increased awareness and utilisation of the Derbyshire Alcohol Diversion Scheme
  • Increased awareness of alcohol services – ADS, sensible drinking rewards website (www.sensibledrinkingrewards.org.uk) and parent/carer support services

The work will be completed by the end of June (2013)
